Tengi George-Ikoli is a lawyer and economist with a decade long experience working in the resource governance and energy policy space. She is the Senior Program Officer, leading the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI)’s Nigeria Country Program. NRGI is an international non-government organization committed to supporting informed, inclusive decision-making about natural resources and the energy transition. Tengi is a Global Member representative on the Global Council of Publish What You Pay (PWYP), an international coalition of more than 1000 organizations. Before her work with NRGI, she was the Program Coordinator of the Nigeria Natural Resource Charter (NNRC) in Nigeria. Tengi leads NRGI’s work in supporting the Nigerian government and citizens in imagining a future beyond oil and achieving a just energy transition in Nigeria that ensures the energy transition-led risks are managed effectively and energy transition processes are inclusive, participatory, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians. Tengi holds a joint honors LLB in law and economics from the University of Wales, Swansea, and an LLM from the University of Bristol.
